PERSONAL INJURY AND DEATH CLAIMS
Anthony M. Sellitto, Jr. is certified by the
New Jersey Supreme Court as a Civil Trial Attorney. For 33 years
he has handled injury and death claims including automobile accidents,
boating accidents, trip slip and falls, injuries due to dangerous
products, work related injuries, accidental burns, scars and serious
brain injuries.
If Mr. Sellitto takes a case, he handles it on what is called a contingency basis. The attorney's fee is a percentage of the recovery. If there is no recovery in the case, there is no attorney's fee.
Automobile Accidents: In New Jersey, we have what is called "no fault" insurance, which means that no matter who is a fault in an accident, an injured person goes first to his/her own automobile insurance company for payment of his/her economic loss. In most cases (depending upon which options the injured person selected when purchasing automobile insurance) the automobile insurance company pays all medical expenses up to $250,000. There is a $250 deductible and a co-pay of 20% on all expenses up to $5,000. The deductible and co-pay amounts can be submitted to the injured person's health insurance. Some people may have a higher deductible, may have named their health insurance company as primary or may have selected the "basic" automobile insurance policy, which gives only $15,000 in medical payments. Automobile insurance also pays a minimum of $100 per week income loss (up to a maximum of $700 per week) and essential services benefits of either $12 per day or $20 per day. The difference in benefits depends on options selected at the time the policy is purchased or renewed.
Mr. Sellitto has been handling serious injury cases for 31 years. He has access to accident reconstructionists and other liability experts and vocational and economic experts who may be needed to demonstrate to a jury who is responsible for an accident and what the true value is of someone's injuries.
